Moses and the Burning Bush

One sunny day, Moses was taking care of his father-in-law’s sheep. The sheep were happily eating green grass, and the wind gently sang through the tall trees. Moses walked and walked until he came to a special mountain called Horeb.

Suddenly, Moses saw something very strange and wonderful. A bush was on fire, but it didn’t burn up! The bright flames danced like tiny stars, but the bush stayed green and alive. Moses was very curious and a little surprised.

He thought, “Why doesn’t the bush burn? I want to see this!” So, he walked closer to look at the amazing fire. Then, he heard a voice coming from the bush. It was God! God said, “Moses! Moses!”

Moses answered, “Here I am!” God told him to take off his sandals because he was standing on holy ground. Holy means very special and set apart for God. Moses felt a little scared but also very special to be there.

God said, “I have seen how my people are hurting. They are slaves in Egypt. I want you to help them. I will send you to tell Pharaoh to let my people go.” Moses was surprised and worried. He asked, “Who am I to do this? What if they don’t listen?”

God smiled with love and said, “I will be with you. I am the God of your father, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Tell my people, ‘I am has sent me to you.’” God’s name “I am” means He is always there, always loving, and never changing.

Moses felt a little braver. He knew God was strong and kind. God told Moses many things to say to the people and Pharaoh. Then, God disappeared from the bush, but Moses never forgot that special moment.

Moses went back to his sheep, thinking about the big adventure God wanted him to have. He knew it would be hard, but he trusted God’s love and power. Moses was ready to listen and obey God’s call.

God’s fire on the bush was not just a light; it was a sign of His amazing love and power. Just like the bush didn’t burn up, God’s love never ends. And God always helps us when we are scared or don’t know what to do.
