Once upon a time, in a small town called Nazareth, there lived a young woman named Mary. She was kind and gentle, and she loved God very much. One sunny day, Mary was quietly thinking and praying when suddenly, a bright light filled the room. It was an angel!
The angel’s name was Gabriel. He looked very kind and smiled at Mary. “Do not be afraid, Mary,” he said softly. “God is very happy with you. He has a special plan for you.”
Mary felt surprised and a little scared. She wondered, “What does God want me to do?” Gabriel explained, “You will have a baby boy. He will be very special. He will be the Son of God.”
Mary’s heart beat fast like a little drum. She thought about how this could happen because she was not married yet. So she asked, “How can this be?”
Gabriel said, “The Holy Spirit will come to you. God’s power will make this happen. Nothing is impossible for God.” Mary smiled and felt peace in her heart. She said, “I am God’s servant. I will do what God wants.”
The angel told Mary more, “Your baby will be called Jesus. He will be great and will save people from their sins.” Mary felt happy and full of hope. She trusted God’s plan even though it was a big surprise.
After Gabriel left, Mary went to visit her cousin Elizabeth. Elizabeth was also going to have a baby, even though she was very old. When Elizabeth saw Mary, she was filled with joy and said, “Blessed are you! God is with you!”
Mary and Elizabeth hugged and laughed together. Mary sang a beautiful song to thank God for His love and kindness. She felt very close to God and knew He would help her every step of the way.
This story shows us how God chooses people to do amazing things. Sometimes, God’s plans surprise us, but we can trust Him because He loves us very much. Just like Mary, we can say, “Yes, God, I will follow you!”
