Once upon a time, there was a kind shepherd who had one hundred fluffy sheep. The sheep were white like clouds and soft like pillows. Every day, the shepherd took care of his sheep and made sure they had green grass to eat and clean water to drink.
One day, when the shepherd counted his sheep, he saw that one little sheep was missing. Oh no! The little sheep was lost! The shepherd felt worried and sad. “Where is my little sheep?” he asked, looking all around the hills and fields.
The shepherd loved every sheep very much. So, he left the ninety-nine sheep safely resting in the big green field. Then, he went out to find the lost little sheep. He walked through the tall grass and over the rocky hills. The sun was warm on his back, and the wind whispered softly through the trees.
The little sheep was scared and alone. It had wandered far away and didn’t know the way home. The poor sheep felt cold and tired. But the shepherd never gave up. He called out, “Little sheep, where are you?” His voice was full of love and hope.
Suddenly, the shepherd heard a soft baa! It was the lost sheep! The shepherd ran as fast as he could and picked up the little sheep in his arms. The sheep was so happy and safe now. It snuggled close to the shepherd’s warm chest.
The shepherd smiled with joy. “I found you! I love you so much!” he said. He carried the little sheep back to the big green field where the other sheep were waiting. All the sheep were happy to see the lost sheep come home.
The shepherd’s heart was full of happiness. He said, “Let’s celebrate! I was so worried, but now my little sheep is safe.” The shepherd’s love for the little sheep was like the sun shining bright, warm and never ending.
This story tells us about God’s love for you. Just like the shepherd loves his sheep, God loves you very much. Even if you feel lost or scared, God will always find you and hold you close. You are never alone because God’s love is big and strong.
God’s love is like a bright light that shines in the dark. It makes us feel safe and happy. So remember, no matter what happens, God is always with you, looking for you and ready to bring you home.

3 Jesus told them this parable, saying,
4 “What man among you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?
5 When he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
6 When he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my lost sheep!’
7 I tell you, in the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who have no need of repentance.”
