One bright and sunny day, Jesus’ friends were all together in a small room. They felt happy but also a little scared. Jesus had gone back to heaven, and now they didn’t know what to do. They prayed and waited quietly, hoping for something wonderful.
Suddenly, a sound like a strong wind filled the whole house. It was not just any wind—it was God’s special power coming! The friends looked up and saw something amazing: little flames like fire appeared above their heads. These were not real fires that could burn; they were signs of the Holy Spirit coming to help them.
The Holy Spirit is God’s special helper. It gives people courage, joy, and the power to tell others about Jesus. The friends started to speak in many different languages! People from all over the world heard them and understood. It was like magic, but it was God’s love shining through them.
Everyone outside was surprised and amazed. Some people asked, “What is happening? How can they speak all these languages?” Peter, one of Jesus’ friends, stood up and said, “This is what the prophet said would happen. God has sent His Holy Spirit to help us!”
Peter told the crowd about Jesus. He said, “Jesus is alive! He died for us and now He is in heaven. God’s Spirit is here to help us be brave and tell everyone about Jesus.” Many people felt happy and believed Peter’s words. They wanted to follow Jesus too.
The friends felt so joyful and strong. They knew they were not alone anymore. The Holy Spirit was with them every day, like a bright light in their hearts. They couldn’t wait to share God’s love with the whole world!
Isn’t it wonderful that God sends His Spirit to help us? Even today, the Holy Spirit is like a warm hug from God, making us brave, kind, and full of love.
