Long ago, in a little town called Nazareth, there lived a young woman named Mary. She was kind and gentle, and God loved her very much. One day, an angel came to Mary with a special message.

The angel said, “Do not be afraid, Mary. God has chosen you to have a very special baby. His name will be Jesus. He will be the Son of God and will bring joy to the world.”

Mary was surprised and asked, “How can this be?” The angel told her that God’s power would make this happen. Mary said, “I am God’s servant. Let it happen just as you said.”

Soon, Mary’s family had to travel far away to a town called Bethlehem. It was a long trip, and Mary was tired because her baby was about to be born. When they arrived, they looked for a place to stay, but every inn was full.

Mary and Joseph felt worried. Where would the baby sleep? Finally, they found a small stable where animals lived. It was not a house, but it was warm and safe.

That night, under a sky full of twinkling stars, baby Jesus was born. Mary wrapped Him in soft cloth and laid Him in a manger, which is a feeding box for animals. The animals were quiet and peaceful, as if they knew something wonderful was happening.

Far away in the fields, some shepherds were watching their sheep. Suddenly, a bright light shone in the sky! An angel appeared and said, “Do not be afraid! I bring you good news. Today, a Savior has been born. You will find Him wrapped in cloth and lying in a manger.”

The shepherds were amazed and hurried to find the baby. When they saw Jesus, their hearts were full of joy. They said to each other, “This is the special baby God promised!” They wanted to tell everyone about the wonderful news.

The sky was filled with many angels singing, “Glory to God in the highest, and peace on earth to everyone who pleases God!” Their voices were like beautiful music that made the night sparkle.

Mary thought about all these things in her heart. She felt happy and thankful to God for His love and for sending Jesus to be the light of the world.

Jesus’ birth shows us that God loves us very much. He sent His Son to bring hope, joy, and peace to all people.
