Once upon a time, before there were cities or cars, God made a beautiful garden called Eden. It was like a big, green playground filled with colorful flowers, tall trees, and sparkling rivers. The sun shone warmly, and the birds sang happy songs all day long.
In this lovely garden, God made the very first man, Adam. Adam woke up and saw the bright sky and the soft grass beneath him. He felt happy and curious. God said to Adam, “You can live here and take care of the garden.” Adam smiled because he knew this was a special place.
But God saw that Adam was lonely. So, God made a helper for Adam. He made a woman named Eve from Adam’s side. When Adam saw Eve, he said, “Wow! You are like a part of me.” They were very happy to be together. They walked and talked in the garden, feeling safe and loved.
God told Adam and Eve, “You can eat fruit from any tree in the garden, except one. Don’t eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you do, something very sad will happen.” Adam and Eve listened carefully. They wanted to obey God because they loved Him.
Every day, Adam and Eve played with the animals and picked sweet fruits. The garden was peaceful, like a dream. They felt God’s love like a warm hug all around them. Sometimes, they heard God’s voice softly, and it made their hearts happy.
One day, a sneaky snake came to Eve. The snake said, “Why don’t you eat the fruit from the special tree? It will make you wise like God.” Eve was surprised. She wondered, “Is this true? Will I be wise?” The snake said things that were not true, trying to trick her.
Eve looked at the fruit. It was shiny and red, like a shiny apple that looks very tasty. She reached out and took a bite. Then she gave some to Adam, and he ate too. Suddenly, they felt different. They realized they were not listening to God, and they felt afraid.
When God came to the garden, Adam and Eve hid behind the trees because they were scared. God asked, “Where are you?” Adam said, “I was afraid because I was naked.” They felt sad because they had made a mistake.
God still loved Adam and Eve very much. He made clothes for them to wear. But because they did not listen, they had to leave the beautiful garden. It was a sad goodbye, like leaving a favorite playground. But God promised He would always love them and help them.
Even when we make mistakes, God’s love is big and never ends. He wants us to listen to Him and trust Him, just like Adam and Eve learned. God’s garden is a happy place in our hearts when we love and obey Him.
